“I’m leaving today! I want to be a part of it, New York, New York. If I can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere…” okay, I’ll stop now before I embarrass my family any further. 🙂 Well everyone, I left early this morning to catch my first flight in my route to New York City. It was still dark, but peacefully quiet on the streets of OKC. I was up early to get ready and arrived at Will Rogers Airport a little before 5 am. The worst part, besides only getting 4.5 hours of sleep, was having to bring the girls for this early road trip. We did so as gently as we could. Azar carried each one to the car in their pajamas and made sure their seats were leaned back so they could resume sleeping. Mommy got them blankets. 🙂 I miss you girls already. 🙁 Make sure you take good care of your daddy.

I met some very interesting people on the flight. (I enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories.) The man on my right was in the Air Force and had just left OKC to see his sister graduate from OU LAW (no hating, Azar!) The lady on my right, had a long history as a law firm administrator. She had recently started a pet and plant home sitting business (her passion) that was seeing a lot of success.

After landing in Denver, I got a long overdue shoeshine by Alex. He was a riot! My boots look brand new now. Thanks, Alex!

Which brings me to the purpose of this trip. It is time for Arjaybi’s Stationery & Gifts to expand beyond the horizons of my creative work and include the artistry and craft of other stationery vendors. At the National Stationery Show, I will meet vendors from all over the world. My mission: to find more ethnic, religious and culturally diverse products that give individuals the freedom to express themselves with flair and fashion.

I shall keep you all posted on my progress and I look forward to your feedback about product ideas and my activities. In the meantime, I am going to find my gate, have a seat and read! Oh, joy!

And for my girls, here is a picture of mommy and some birds inside the airport drinking from a water fountain. Isn’t that funny?!
